ABOUT THE STUDIO

Maison Unet Interiors is a residential interior design studio focused on health-informed design for existing homes and renovations. The studio draws from architectural training, material research, and established design principles, alongside long-standing traditions of making, to create interiors that are carefully composed and supportive of everyday life.

We approach interiors as complete environments. Layout, proportion, light, and material are considered alongside indoor air quality, surface finishes, and long-term durability. A home needs to work well, feel comfortable to live in, and remain visually coherent over time. These factors are closely connected and are addressed together.

Rather than relying on rigid standards or idealized outcomes, the studio helps clients make informed design decisions. Research and technical information are translated into practical guidance that responds to budget, construction conditions, and how a home is actually used. The focus is on choices that are clear, durable, and appropriate to the space.

Maison Unet maintains a limited number of projects at a time to allow for continuity throughout each engagement. Alongside client work, the studio publishes ongoing research and writing that examines how residential environments influence comfort, daily use and material longevity.

Based in Michigan, Maison Unet Interiors works with clients who value restraint, material honesty, and homes designed to last. This way of thinking shapes the services we offer and how projects are carried from early assessment through long-term residential planning. For more on how research and health inform this work, see "Our Approach" above for more.
