ABOUT THE STUDIO
Maison Unet is a residential interior design and interior architecture studio based in Lansing, Michigan. Full-service, concept through installation. The practice is small by intention.

The work draws from architectural training and a long interest in how things are made. Proportion, material selection, and light are treated as the primary design tools, considered together rather than in sequence. Natural materials and low-VOC finishes are standard specification. Antiques and vintage pieces are sourced for most projects, chosen for craft and longevity rather than aesthetic novelty. Renovations and spatial interventions are a particular area of focus.

Serving clients in Grand Rapids, Metro Detroit, and across Michigan.
ALEXA CHAMBEAUX

FOUNDER, PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
EXPERIENCE
Master in Architecture, University of Michigan. B.S. Animal Science, University of Florida. LEED Green Associate. WELL AP. Architecture license candidate.

Alexa founded Maison Unet in 2025 after completing a Master of Architecture at the University of Michigan, where her work focused on residential environments and the relationship between spatial design and how people experience a home over time. That foundation shapes how she approaches every project: from drawings and spatial planning through material specification and contractor coordination.

Before graduate school, Alexa studied Animal Science with a concentration in biology, an unlikely pairing that developed a habit of thinking in systems and reading environments carefully. Time spent studying craft and making traditions in France and Argentina deepened her interest in material honesty and how objects age, and continues to inform what she specifies and sources for clients.

She is a LEED Green Associate, a WELL AP and currently working toward her architecture license, with a particular interest in the renovation and new-build work that comes with it.
