OUR APPROACH

Maison Unet is a Michigan-based residential interior architecture and design studio specializing in environmental health risk reduction and long-term human performance in homes. We approach interior design with an additional layer of environmental and technical scrutiny, without compromising aesthetics.

Our work begins with strong design fundamentals. From there, we evaluate material chemistry, air quality considerations, daylight behavior, and how spaces are actually used. Those factors are integrated quietly into the design, not highlighted or aestheticized. The result is a home that feels cohesive, restrained, and resolved, while supporting daily life at a physiological level.

The goal is not to eliminate every variable or chase wellness extremes. It is to make informed decisions where they matter most, reduce unnecessary exposures, and design environments that continue to perform long after the project is complete.

Michigan’s climate and housing stock provide a particularly clear context for this work, with long heating seasons, layered construction, and pronounced seasonal light variation making environmental performance especially visible. While many projects are located throughout Michigan, the principles behind this approach adapt to different climates and contexts rather than prescribing a fixed aesthetic or location-bound model.

We work with clients who value design, think in systems, and care about long-term outcomes in the spaces they live in every day.
